To keep your men's braces in top condition and ensure they last as long as possible, regular maintenance is key. Here's a quick guide on how to care for them:
Braces should be cleaned occasionally, especially if worn in dusty environments or after heavy perspiration. Simply wipe them down with a damp cloth and mild soap, being careful not to stretch the elastic. Rinse the cloth frequently and wipe again with a clean, water-only cloth to remove soap residue. After cleaning, gently pat dry and allow the braces to air dry completely.
Braces should never be machine washed. The elastic will lose its stretch, clips may rust, and the leather could discolour. Avoid tumble drying as well.
For minor stains, start by dabbing the area with a slightly damp cloth (water only), taking care not to oversaturate the elastic. For tougher stains, like grease, use a mild detergent or a small amount of dish soap. As a last resort, you can try baking soda, but be cautious as it could damage the elastic. Always pat dry after cleaning to prevent any lingering moisture from affecting the braces.
By following these simple care tips, you can enjoy your braces for years to come!
